Monster ArtBox update Day 21: Muncher gets a tattoo

Muncher the Monster has been on the Trafalgar Square Roundabout for 23 days. He braves a milkshake spill, the hugs of the passing hordes, and gets an unexpected tattoo and requires a bit of stitched surgery.

All in a day’s work for London’s handmade monster.

Augsburg: An unofficial White Wall and auf wiedersehen

Augsburg: An unofficial White Wall and auf wiedersehen

I’ll end with my very favourite moment in Augsburg. It was totally unplanned, unofficial and possibly rather illegal. If defined by was over and the White Wall on the side of the stadium was to be demolished at sunrise then there was clearly only one thing we could possibly do. I’m so glad someone managed to talk these mysterious figures into it…

Augsburg: setting free the Stitched Schmetterling

Augsburg: setting free the Stitched Schmetterling

Still with me? In the story so far I’m still in Augsburg and have spent six days making art in a giant city-centre fish tank. Missed it? Read previous days here and come back. I’ll wait… So spending so much time in a big glass fish tank makes a girl long for fresh air. Lucky […]

Augsburg: Beer for breakfast and other people’s art

Augsburg: Beer for breakfast and other people’s art

I started my sixth day in Augsburg with beer for breakfast. Happily I wasn’t partaking in morning drinking alone as a way of surviving fish-tank living. This was our introduction to a traditional Bavarian breakfast. Since I’d spent half the night up knitting pigs I was up for some revenge on pigkind. So booze and […]

White Paper Four: Return of the Wild Boar Five

White Paper Four: Return of the Wild Boar Five

By the fifth day in Augsburg the three artists in the White Room seemed to finally be feeling the effects of too little sleep, too much complimentary City of Peace backstage beer, and an overdose of making art. Far from snoozing sweetly back at the defined by apartment though, we flew in the face of […]

Augsburg: You say goodbye, I say hello

Zombielike I made it to the London’s not-so-Londony Stansted Airport this morning just in time to grab a cup of tea and dash to my flight. It was my second attempt to leave for Augsburg this week, having been horribly misled by my tired brain into thinking I was leaving on Saturday (resulting in three […]

Free pattern: Floating Flutterguys

The Floating Flutterguy is a simple creature. He turns from a cocoon of scrap yarn into a beautiful woolly winged wonder in less time than it takes to scream “AGH! Is that a moth!? Get it away from my cashmere!!!”. Lucky for you (and for your cashmere) the Floating Flutterguy isn’t hungry for your yarn. […]

New York Squids in the city: Mollusc at the Museum

One squid. One city museum. One mission. New York City’s American Museum of Natural History boasted more than 32 million species and artefacts in its hallowed halls. That’s a whole lot of beasts, birds and other bits. But there was one species that was tragically lacking in the museum’s myriad of mammals and monsters. It […]
